Bible Anchor ... Seeing Jesus' Heart

Scripture Moment: Mark 14:3-9 (nkjv)

Verses 6 & 8 highlighted ...

But Jesus said, "Let her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for Me. ... She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial."

Experiencing Life With Jesus ...

My husband Chuck and I taught 2nd grade Sunday School in a small basement room in a little church with a steeple. It was a timely opportunity to grow in the Lord and in the knowledge of His Word. We had believed in Jesus and said "yes" to Him a few years prior, but had not engaged faithfully in spiritual disciplines or even church attendance. But now we were. And now we needed to study the Bible so we could teach little hearts and minds.

The story from Mark 14 was one of the first stories we dug into. I recall being deeply touched by two phrases ... "Let her alone..." and "She has done what she could."  The simple message contained in those verses opened my understanding to the heart of the Lord. I realized then and have affirmed over the years that He is our defender and He notices and cares about the simple acts of service done with great love to bless Him.

Let Us Pray ...

Lord God, You are truly our rock, fortress, deliverer in Whom we take refuge. If you are for us, who can be against us? You loved us first and You love us the most!

You see us and our acts of service. Help our hearts to always be set on blessing Yours. Amen
